Getting started with Wonda
Everything you need to install Wonda, add your knowledge, and run it on your website. If you get stuck, email hello@wonderweb.co.zw.
Quick start
Four steps from sign-up to live widget.
- Create your account at /register. Enter your website domain.
- Add your knowledge base. Paste your services, hours, prices, and FAQs from the dashboard.
- Copy the embed code from Dashboard → Embed code.
- Paste it into your website just before the closing
</body>tag.
Refresh your website. The chat bubble appears in the corner. Click it and ask a question to test.
Install the widget
Wonda loads from a single <script> tag. It works on any site that serves HTML over HTTPS.
WordPress
Add a Custom HTML block just above your theme's </body> tag. Paste the embed code. Or install the Wonda Client plugin — the plugin does the same thing with an admin settings screen.
Shopify
Online Store → Themes → Edit code → theme.liquid. Paste the embed code just before </body>.
Wix, Squarespace, Webflow
Use the platform's "Custom code" or "Embed HTML" feature. Every platform supports pasting a script tag into the page footer.
Plain HTML
Paste the embed code just before the closing body tag of every page, or include it once in your shared layout.
<script src="https://wonda.co.zw/wp-content/plugins/wonda-central/widget/embed.js" data-site-id="site_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" data-widget-token="wt_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" async></script>
The token is protected by domain validation — it only works from the domain you registered. Keep it private, but it is not as sensitive as a password.
Add your knowledge
The knowledge base is what the chatbot reads on every message. Write it in plain text — no special syntax.
What to include
- What your business does, in one or two sentences
- Opening hours, physical address, phone, email
- Frequently asked questions and their answers
- Services or products you offer, with prices if you publish them
- Anything you specifically don't want the chatbot to answer
What to leave out
- Long paragraphs of marketing copy — turn them into short factual lines
- Legal boilerplate — the chatbot reads everything you paste, every message
- Duplicates — if the same fact appears twice, you pay for it twice
Import from a URL
Pro and Business plans can import text directly from a URL. Paste a page URL, Wonda fetches the page once, extracts the visible text, and shows you a preview before saving.
Version history
Every save keeps the previous version. If a change breaks something, restore any prior version from Dashboard → Knowledge base → Version history.
Import products
Upload your catalogue as JSONL or CSV. Wonda uses it to answer product questions — price, stock, category, description.
JSONL format
One product per line. Only sku and title are required.
{"sku":"ABC-123","title":"Blue T-shirt","price":19.99,"categories":"Clothing,T-shirts","stock_status":"instock"}
{"sku":"ABC-124","title":"Red hoodie","price":34.50,"categories":"Clothing,Hoodies","stock_status":"instock"}
Re-import
Upload the same file again with fresh prices or stock. Wonda matches by SKU and updates in place. Nothing duplicates.
Bulk edit
Select multiple products and adjust price, stock, or category in one go. Useful for seasonal sales or stock resets.
Configure the chatbot
Dashboard → Widget settings. Everything here takes effect immediately — no republish, no cache to clear.
| Bot name | What the header shows. Paid plans only. |
| Greeting | First message the visitor sees. |
| Primary colour | Header, launcher bubble, user message bubbles. |
| Position | Bottom-right (default), bottom-left, top-right, top-left. |
| Quick prompts | Up to 3 suggested questions on an empty chat. |
| Lead capture | Ask for email/name/phone after N messages or on intent. |
| Number, pre-filled message, and trigger phrases. | |
| Business location | Shows an interactive map when visitors ask where you are. |
Leads & webhooks
Every lead lands in Dashboard → Leads. Each lead shows the visitor's name, email, phone, and the context of what they asked before submitting.
Webhook to your CRM
Set a webhook URL from Admin → Site → Webhook. Wonda posts a signed JSON payload on every lead. Verify with HMAC-SHA256 using the site's webhook secret.
POST https://your-crm.example.com/hooks/wonda
X-Wonda-Signature: sha256=<hex(hmac_sha256(secret, body))>
Content-Type: application/json
{
"event": "lead.created",
"site_id": "site_xxxx",
"delivered_at": "2026-10-15T13:20:00Z",
"data": { "email": "...", "name": "...", "phone": "..." }
}
Analytics & reports
Every message is classified in the background for sentiment and intent. Nothing runs on the visitor's turn — the reply goes out first, classification happens after.
What you get
- Sentiment — average score, daily timeline, most negative messages
- Intents — top labels, share, confidence
- Funnel — widget opens, first message, lead form shown, lead captured
- CSAT — star ratings, average, distribution
- Unanswered — every fallback, deduplicated with ask count
Scheduled reports
Daily or weekly emails with the metrics you choose. Reports fire from the cron at 06:00 UTC. Enable from Dashboard → Scheduled reports.
Team & billing
Pro plans include 3 team seats, Business includes 10. Add team members from Admin → Users and assign them to sites.
Plans
See /pricing for the full matrix. Upgrade any time from Dashboard → Plan & billing.
Troubleshooting
The chat bubble doesn't appear
- Is the embed code before
</body>on the live page? - Is your subscription active? Check Dashboard → Plan.
- Open the browser console — if you see a 403, your site's origin doesn't match what's registered. Update it under Admin → Site → Allowed origins.
- Hard-reload — cached embed.js sometimes sticks for hours.
The bot gives wrong answers
- Open Dashboard → Knowledge base. Read what the AI sees for that question.
- Check Unanswered — if the question is there, the KB genuinely lacks the answer.
- Check the flag panel — some lines may be filtered out as conflicting with platform rules.
The map doesn't render
- Set Business location in settings — the map only appears when coordinates are set.
- Ask "where are you located?" — the bot includes the map when the visitor asks.
Emails aren't arriving
- Check your spam folder.
- From Admin → Settings → Mail, confirm SMTP host and password.
- Test with Admin → Site → Send test email.
